Hi, I’m Anita!
Native Chicagoan, Food Enthusiast, Dog Mom
With a degree in Hospitality Management, I quit my corporate hospitality job in Chicago and moved down to South Florida in 2008. After a year managing the F&B and catered events at a prominent golf club, I wanted my nights and weekends back and that’s the last time I worked in Food & Beverage.
You can take me out of the F&B industry, but you’ll never take my love for food! Even as I worked my ‘9-5’, I always wanted to be involved in (if not surrounded by) food. For five years I worked with a local non-profit and chaired their two annual Chef-centric fundraisers, thereby keeping my finger on the pulse of our local restaurant scene. All the while, I continued to do what I loved most in my private life – catering my own private parties and perfecting my cooking along the way, learning and finding inspiration from some of the best chefs in Fort Lauderdale. Having always wanted to do something on my own, I pulled one of my ongoing “notes” with a list of 50 different dumpling flavors I wanted to try, and DumplingHaus was born.
But! There are so many concepts I’d like to try and that’s why I decided on the A.E. Chang’s umbrella. At the core of it all is me, sharing my love for food and events with you – a solid foundation with room to grow. Take a look around, new concepts may pop up…. let’s see where this dynamic and evolving world takes us!
